Fave Art Friday: Week 3
Pokemon | Journey Together
Welcome to Fave Art Friday, the series where we go through all cards in an expansion (announced/ available at the time of writing) and determine our favourite 10 and try to put them in order!
The series does not take into account a card's rarity, value or input in a game - we're just giving our opinion on the artwork.
So, without any delay, let's get started on The Card Table's countdown of the top 10 best art cards from Pokemon Journey Together:
Number 10 - Volcanion

A dark card in both it's look and feel, the artist of Volcanion has definitely designed an image that works perfectly with the volcanic eruption in the background. There's no mistaking this is a powerful Fire type!
Number 9 - Paldean Wooper:
I've changed the position of this card several times when trying to choose a top 10... I love the subtle rainbow colours across this Paldean Wooper card, which is how it gets a top 9 spot, but I'm not convinced it should be any higher.
Number 8 - Noibat:
What a nice card! The watercolour pencil style really works well for Noibat & it's cave habitat. For such a dark environment, the artist has done an amazing job or getting the light and colours to pop!
Number 7 - Furret:

I haven't seen a Pokemon card this cute since Twighlight Masquerade's Eevee, or the famous Bubble Mew from Paldean Fates. There are better/ cooler card arts in this set, and definitely cards that will be more valuable, but Furret deserves a place on this list for cuteness alone.
Number 6 - Wailord:

A really cool card, that brilliantly shows off the size of Wailord. We're loving the little details like the ship above water and underwater details too!
Number 5 - Articuno:

You can't not love Articuno, and it's once again portrayed brilliantly here. The different shades of blue and white really give off a cool ice-y feel, which is perfect for the legendary Ice Pokemon!
Number 4 - Lillie's Clefairy ex:

Bright, bold, colourful, cute looking Clefairy, this card has it all. We can't wait to get our hands on one to see just how nice it looks when the colours shine off the card!
Number 3 - Meowth:

A stunning watercolour/ anime fusion, we really love this Meowth. Promo cards don't often get a big thumbs up from us, as they're usually a bit bland (the Eevee promos from Prismatic Evolutions are the exception since the Shrouded Fable era!) - but this Meowth promo has a great look!
Number 2 - N's Reshiram:

What is it with Journey Together and great looking promos? This stunning & colourful card would be worthy of the number 1 spot and it very nearly made it there - but from the moment we saw this set was announced, we already had our favourite...
Number 1 - Hop's Zacian ex:

This was perhaps the easiest number 1 spot that we've had so far. This card is absolutely beautiful, from the immaculate design, to a wide range of colours and even the light shining through the forest canopy - we really like it all. A very worthy number 1 from a great looking Pokemon TCG expansion!
