Fave Art Friday: Week 8
Pokemon | Black Bolt & White Flare
Welcome to Fave Art Friday, the series where we go through all cards in an expansion (announced/ available at the time of writing) and determine our favourite art cards and try to put them in order!
The series does not take into account a card's rarity, value or input in a game - we're just giving our opinion on the artwork.
This time around, we're going to do something we've never done before... Because this is a special duel set, with so many art cards - we're counting down our top fifteen cards!

Number 15 - Carracosta
Kicking off the list is Carracosta, we reckon this will look so much better in person!
Number 14 - Sawk
A fairly simple-looking card on the face of it, although the shades and variety of colours look great!
Think there's a missed opportunity for cards to link together though (think Charizard/ Mewtwo V Star promos), as Carracosta, Sawk, Larvesta & more could have featured together!
Number 13 - Liepard
This one is basically an impressive watercolour painting, and we love it!
Number 12 - Blitzle
Cute Basic Pokemon seem to be a thing with Black Bolt & White Flare, and Blitzle is high up on a long list of them! We love the reflection on this one, it just adds to the cuteness!
Number 11 - Larvesta
It won't be a huge pull for some people, but we love this one. The artwork is cute and absolutely stunning all in one - this will definitely be going in the personal collection!
Number 10 - Landorus:
Cool artwork, and bold colours, this card is going to stand out from other illustrations in this set, that's for sure!
Number 9 - Thundurus:
A very cool looking card, the lights & darks compliment each other nicely here, and will look twice as good in person on the shiny card!
Number 8 - N' Plot:
A big fan-favourite, with amazing details all over, this will be a big card for a lot of people.
Number 7 - Seismitoad:
The sheer amount of stunning detail on this card make it a worthy addition to this list. Seismitoad itself is fairly simple, but beating that background will take some doing!
Number 6 - Kyurem ex:
One of the cards we're most excited for from this set - definitely going to be chasing this one!
Number 5 - Zekrom ex:
One of the cards that people will expect to be top of our list - it still comes in at number 5, but there's other artworks that we like even more than this one in Black Bolt & White Flare
Number 4 - Reshiram ex:
The other card that most people will expect to be top of this list! Whilst it looks great, and deserves a spot high on this list, our 1-3 spots all have nicer artwork in our opinion!
Number 3 - Hydreigon ex:
This is going to be the most underrated card in this set. When it's in your hands, this is going to look amazing, easily one of our top chases from this set!
Number 2 - Reshiram ex:
Such a colourful card, with lots of light colours. In person, this will look so much better!
Number 1 - Zekrom ex:
What a stunning card! The colours on this are going to look STUNNING up close! We're going to be desperate to get our hands on this one!
Bonus Entry - Victini BWR Promo:
Although it's not actually a Black Bolt & White Flare card, we needed to include this stunning card in this list!
It'll be a very unique, and hard to get, promo card that seemingly will only be available at limited events/ tournaments!
