Welcome to Fave Art Friday, the series where we go through all cards in an expansion (announced/ available at the time of writing) and determine our favourite 10 and try to put them in order!
The series does not take into account a card's rarity, value or input in a game - we're just giving our opinion on the artwork.
So, let's get started on The Card Table's countdown of the top 10 best art cards from Pokemon Destined Rivals, and see what we're chasing on Instagram & TikTok:
Number 10 - Ethan's Adventure
We have a soft spot for both Pichu and Cyndaquil, so, you know...
Number 9 - Yanmega ex:
A decent enough start to this list, we reckon the water and the colours on Yanmega will look great when you have this shiny card in hand.
Number 8 - Zamazenta:
The near 3D effect really works for this Zamazenta, with a cool multi-coloured background to go with it.
Number 7 - Ethan's Ho-Oh ex:
We really like this card (and Ho-Oh in general), but the small glimpse of sunlight and interaction between Ethan & the legendary bird, it all fits together really nicely.
Number 6 - Misty's Psyduck:
Another card that will look even better in the flesh, the reflection & ripple effect from the water will look amazing on the shiny card. And who hasn't warmed to Misty's Psyduck? Even Misty has!
Number 5 - Rocket's Houndoom:
Houndoom has been a fan-favourite since the original Gold & Silver games, and it's brilliantly captured in this artwork.
One of a few gloomy-looking cards in this set, which we love, so much so, that one of them is top of our list - but which?
Number 4 - Ethan's Typhlosion:
Easily going to be this set's most underrated card. For some reason, the bright, colourful & multi-coloured cards don't seem to get the credit they deserve (see Zeraora from Stellar Crown!). But we really can't get enough of this one, and it's high up our list for chasers!
Number 3 - Cynthia's Garchomp ex:
Power, just sheer power, and similar to a few others on this list, Garchomp is a bit favourite amongst Pokemon fans. At number 3, that only leaves 2 clear choices for the rest of the podium...
Number 2 - Rocket's Mewtwo ex:
Bet you thought this would be number 1, right? As mentioned, this list has nothing to do with card values, and while this is a really cool looking card (hence making it to number 2!), we think number 1 just pip(lup)s it to top spot...
Number 1 - Rocket's Moltres ex:
Wow, just look at this card! The detail, the colours, the power, the OG legendary bird. Easy and very deserved winner of this episode!
