Journey Together expansion confirmed
What a way to start off 2025, not only did we get the release of the massively anticipated Prismastic Evolutions (if you're lucky enough to get your hands on it, let alone at RRP), but The Pokemon Company have also released information on the next expansion - Scarlet & Violet | Journey Together!
The official announcement from Pokemon read:
"With deep trust and steady guidance, Trainers help bring out the best in their Pokémon. The bond they share empowers them to act as one in battle as they push their strength to the limit, including as Pokémon ex! Team up with N’s Zoroark ex, Iono’s Bellibolt ex, Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Hop’s Zacian ex, and more Trainer’s Pokémon, and discover the unstoppable power of friendship in the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together expansion!

Yet More Stunning Artwork
This set sees a return of trainers & Pokemon side-by-side on multiple cards in stunning artwork. Without doubt, our current favourite is Hop's Zacian ex (below), because who doesn't love a legendary Pokemon?
Keep an eye out for our new series, Fave Art Friday, where we showcase our favourite cards from different sets across different Trading Card Games, including Journey Together!
This expansion will make Booster Boxes (36 packs) available again - after the Prismatic Evolutions set focused more on collection boxes (such as the Binder and Sticker Collections), in addition to the usual Elite Trainer Boxes that we've seen consistently in the Scarlet & Violet era.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet | Journey Together Release Date
The official release date is confirmed as the 28th March 2025 and we can expect more expansion announcements in the build up to this release.
