Fave Art Friday: Week 1
Pokemon | Prismatic Evolutions
Welcome to Fave Art Friday, the series where we go through all cards in an expansion (announced/ available at the time of writing) and determine our favourite 10 and try to put them in order!
The series does not take into account a card's rarity, value or input in a game - we're just giving our opinion on the artwork.
So, without any delay, let's get started on The Card Table's countdown of the top 10 best art cards from Pokemon Prismatic Evolutions:
Number 10 - Janine's Secret Art:
A different look and feel to the other Trainer Illustration cards, Janine's Secret Art is more colourful than the other Trainers in this expansion - we can't wait to see how it looks in the flesh!
Number 9 - Raging Bolt ex:
This long-necked Raikou Raging Bolt ex definitely jumps out at you, this is one we really want to get hold of to see the beautiful shining colours up close!
Although, if we're honest, we'd rather see the 2nd Gen legendaries return...
Number 8 - Jolteon ex:
What a card, we never would have thought that we'd want Tera Eeveelutions, but now we definitely want this one in the binder!
Number 7 - Iron Valiant ex:
The only Future card to feature in today's list, something about this card just really grabs our attention, maybe the striking pink on dark background. No matter what it is, this is definitely one we want to add to the collection!
Number 6 - Terapagos ex:
Admittedly, it does look remarkably like a zoomed-in copy of the Terapagos ex Special Illustration Rare from Stellar Crown, but who doesn't love the colourful turtle that started the Tera era?
Number 5 - Roaring Moon ex:
A simple, yet busy black & gold background, with a beautifully bold Roaring Moon catching your eye - we can't not love this card.
Number 4 - Palafin ex:
Palafin ex takes everything that we loved about Roaring Moon ex and throws it out the window.
A simple card on the face of it, with very little background and just one Pokemon to focus on, Palafin ex distracts you from this fact by presenting an amazing array of colours that almost jump out of the card.
Number 3 - Vaporeon ex
We could never feature just 1 Eeveelution in this list, when the expansion revolves around them, could we? We could've easily made most of this list a countdown of Eevee and it's evolutions, but that's like choosing between your favourite... well... partner!
Bright, bold, stained-glass style, this amazing Vaporeon ex takes today's bronze medal.
Number 2 - Ceruledge ex
Tera, Tera and more Tera! There's a clear theme amongst our favourite art cards in these expansion...
If it wan't for our number 1, this would have been our clear fave art from Prismatic Evolutions. Simply stunning artwork that is almost top of our list to add to the collection.
Number 1 - Umbreon ex
You probably guessed it long before now, and yes it's yet another Tera card, there's clearly a reason why this is the most sought-after (and expensive!) card in the Prismatic Evolutions set. A stained-glass style Umbreon, with an incredibly bright & colourful background - this was the easiest pick for top spot.
